Transitus... a top-down cloche-style hat with elongated stitches that criss-cross along a purl ridge.

You can knit Transitus with more (or less) slouch depending on how much you like in a hat! The cloche shape is achieved with a short row brim before the edging and bind off.

Transitus is great with (or without) a pom-pom! Totally up to you!

MATERIALS
110 (135, 150) yards [101 (123, 117) meters] worsted weight yarn
Yarn I Used:
YOTH, Daughter Mini (100% Domestic Rambouillet & Merino wool blend; 165 yd [151 m]/ 2.65 oz [75 g]); color- Natural Vanilla
One US Size 7 [4.5 mm] 16” circular needle, or size needed to obtain pattern gauge
One set US Size 7 [4.5 mm] double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain pattern gauge
One US Size 6 [4 mm] 16” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Pompom (optional)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Small (Medium, Large)
17 (19, 21) inches [43 (48, 53) cm] brim circumference, unstretched, to fit head up to 19 (21, 23) inches [48 (53, 58) cm] around

GAUGE
17 sts x 24 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch, blocked on smaller needles
19 sts x 28 rnds = 4 inches in Pattern Stitch, blocked on larger needles
