The Answer

So, what is the Answer? We all know it is LOVE, which is how I feel about this sweet scarflette!

The Answer is worked tip to tip, starting with increases on one edge to the center and then decreasing down the other side. Simple. Satisfying. Stripey. It’s easy, wearable, and sooooo giftable.

I found the yarn for The Answer in Madrid last fall. It was love at first squish. Ateana is a dreamy blend of wool, cotton, and cashmere—a self-striping floofy rainbow kitten. Exactly what we all need right now!

And, in classic me fashion, I include two versions of The Answer in one pattern: with beads using fingering weight yarn and without beads, using any yarn you have on hand! To make it even more fun, the beaded version has placed beads on the bottom edge AND uses a 6-sided die to help dictate the placement of random bling, so all our Answers are unique!

MATERIALS
191 yards [175 meters] of fingering weight yarn

Yarn Used:
Concept by Katia, Atenea Tones; (42% extrafine Merino wool, 40% cotton, 18% cashmere);
191 yards [175 meters]/ 0.75 ounce [25 g]; color 204

US Size 6 [4 mm] needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle

Optional
228 Size 6/0 glass seed beads [38 beads each in 6 colors, or 1 color]
Tool for placing beads- super floss, 0.75-1 mm steel crochet hook, or a Beadle Needle
6 sided die
Scale (for non-beaded version)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
44 inches [112 cm] tip to tip by 11 inches [28 cm] at deepest point

GAUGE
17 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in pattern, on blocked scarf
