ITBE is a light summer shawl, knit up in a unique Japanese cotton tape yarn. To make this shawl you must embrace the Japanese concept of “wabi-sabi”; the idea that beauty lies in imperfection.

Itbe is May's shipment for Lola’s Choice (Laura’s super fun small knitted kit club).
There are now kits in 6 colors available here.

The pattern includes an in depth video tutorial with an extra special blocking sequence!

MATERIALS
Approx. 435 yd [398 m] of light fingering weight yarn
Yarn I Used:
Dandoh, Cotton Fine; (100% cotton; 435 yd [398 m]/ 1.76 oz [50 g]); shown in Mineral Green, Cinder, and Crocus
One US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 32-inch or longer circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
5 stitch markers (3 colA, 2 colB)
Tapestry needle
Optional
122 Size 6/0 Seed Beads (approx. 12 grams)
Tool for placing beads- super floss, .75-1 mm steel crochet hook, or a Beadle Needle

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx. 54 (76) inches [137 (193) cm] wide by 15 (25) inches [38 (64) cm] deep

GAUGE
20 stitches/28 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch, unblocked (see Notes)
19 stitches/28 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch, blocked
