Solite is pure sunshine on your needles; a beautifully substantial, yet light-as-air shawl, and the perfect summer project. Literally So-Lite!
Kits for Solite are available HERE!
Solite is a delicate top-down Half Pi shawl that starts with a garter tab. It features traditional Shetland stitches that play with Japanese Delica and Czech crystal beads. The highlight of the shawl is the Cockleshell stitch, a Shetland stitch pattern I found through one of my favorite Shetland lace artists, Angela Grace Irvine. Over ten years, Angela completed six Shetland lace sea-themed sails for her grandfather’s replica model schooner; and those sails inspired this shawl.
Solite is knit in Marianated Yarns’ Anita Lace, a drapey BFL/Silk blend dyed specifically to show off your delicate lace stitches.
